International students
Each year more than 2,700 international students from more than 130 countries choose to study at DMU. DMU offers free English language support while you’re studying – 2 hours per week for undergraduate and research students, and 3 hours per week for postgraduate students. They also offer free airport pick-ups, and an international welcome week when you first arrive on campus. They have a dedicated International Student Support Team and a ‘buddies’ scheme which matches you with a current DMU student to help you settle in.

Entry requirements
There are small variations in the qualifications required for each individual course, so you should carefully consult the DMU website to see if you are qualified for the course in which you desire to enrol.
All courses at DMU are taught in English. If English is not your first language, you will have to show proof that you are qualified to the level of IELTS 6.0 for Art and Design, Business, Computing and Engineering Courses, IELTS 6.0-6.5 for Humanities and Media courses, IELTS 6.5 for Law courses, and IELTS 6.5-7.5 for Science courses.

How to apply
There is more than one way to apply for admission to De Montfort University. The university recommends that you use their own part-online and part-postal process, details of which can be found on their website. From there, you can download the application form for free. You will then be asked to prepare: a copy of your passport; a copy of your qualifications; a copy of your English language certificate; and references (one reference if you are applying for an undergraduate course, or two references for postgraduate studies). You can then return your completed application form, with its related supporting paperwork, to De Montfort University’s International Admissions Office. Alternatively, you can make use of De Montfort University’s Online Portal for your admission.
Another option is to apply through UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. This is the service utilised by the majority of UK resident students. You will need to register online with UCAS first, and then fill in a virtual form providing your details. You then need to select your course, compose a personal statement (this is your chance to sell yourself), and find someone to supply you with a reference. De Montfort University’s UCAS code is DEM/DM26.
