About

Leeds International Study Centre (Leeds ISC) works in collaboration with the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University to prepare students from outside the UK for successful degree study. Their courses offer students the opportunity to study abroad in the UK, and provide additional support to students who do not meet the entry requirements to apply directly at the University of Leeds or Leeds Beckett University.

Each course is designed to ease you into life in the UK – with small classes, attentive teaching styles and tailored courses for international students, as well as a focus on improving your English language skills. You will also take part in lectures, seminars and tutorials.

All students are going through a similar experience here – living away from home, experiencing a brand-new culture and meeting many new people. You will be surrounded by international students, living and learning together, and will become a part of the global community within the International Study Centre.

Courses

Leeds ISC offers the following courses:

  • International Foundation Year – designed to prepare students for the beginning of their undergraduate degree;
  • International Year One – tailored to allow you to join the second year of an undergraduate degree;
  • English Language Preparation – improving your English language before you join the International Foundation Year or International Year One.

Location

Leeds International Study Centre is located at the world-famous Global East Stand, Emerald Headingley Stadium. Facilities include cutting-edge learning and social spaces with modern technology and a café where you can relax or study.

There are great transport links, with a regular bus service to and from Leeds city centre, and from Headingley Campus to Emerald Headingley Stadium during term time.

As a student at the Leeds ISC, you will have access to a range of resources at Leeds Beckett University campus. These include libraries – which are open 24/7, every day of the year – an online library and access to networked PCs.

Accommodation

Leeds ISC works with Study Inn, a student accommodation provider in the UK. Located in Leeds city centre, Brotherton House offers convenient and modern premium student accommodation.

For more information, including costs, please visit either Accommodation (leedsbeckett.ac.uk) or Accommodation (leedsisc.com), depending on which of the two universities you are planning to progress to.
